To track gorillas in Uganda, you need a permit issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) through a registered and licensed tour operator.

The Trek.

Once you locate a gorilla family, you’ll spend an awe-inspiring hour observing and photographing them. Witnessing their interactions, feeding, grooming, and playful behavior is an experience like no other.

To protect gorillas and enhance your experience, follow these guidelines;

Maintain a 7-meter distance from gorillas.
Avoid direct eye contact; gorillas may interpret this as a challenge.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke near the gorillas.
If you are ill, reschedule your tracking experience to protect gorillas from human diseases.
Follow instructions from your guides at all times.
